EMF Detector

An EMF meter is a scientific instrument for measuring electromagnetic fields (abbreviated as EMF). Most meters measure the electromagneticradiation flux density (DC fields) or the change in an electromagnetic field over time (AC fields), essentially the same as a radio antenna, but with quite different detection characteristics.

Electromagnetic fields can be generated by AC or DC currents. An EMF meter can measure AC electromagnetic fields, which are usually emitted from man-made sources such as electrical wiring, while gauss meters or magnetometers measure DC fields, which occur naturally in Earth’s geomagnetic field and are emitted from other sources where direct current is present.

As most electromagnetic fields encountered in everyday situation are those generated by household or industrial appliances, the majority of EMF meters available are calibrated to measure 50 and 60 Hz alternating fields.

Our Opinion:

The most popular EMF detector used in the paranormal field is the KII Meter. (FYI the K-II is constructed like a Kid’s Meal toy).

The K-II may be used for paranormal research in places like the Caves of Kentucky or atop Mt. Rainer. However, placed too close to other pieces of technology (cell phone) and it will give the user false positives.

Anonymous sources have proclaimed that they have seen certain KII endorsers using the push button (original unaltered) to “fake” a reading.

How? They hold the button down, release it, and then press again so that the battery-check function illuminates all indicating lights, creating a so called positive reading. Clever cons have used their cell phones and other RF sources in order to influence new investigators and/or clients of a ghostly presence.

If you’re thinking of purchasing a K-II meter save your money and buy a regular compass it will work better.

On the other hand documenting changes in the environment is always crucial to any investigation. If your team investigates using EMF meters we suggest: Cell Sensor EMF Meter, Gauss Master or Ghost Meter EMF Sensor. Some teams use this equipment and others do not for this reason we say this is a:
